Below is my version of a Mad*L figure. I call it "Booty on the Brain."
(Wheaty Wheat Studios provided fifty artists ea. with a giant, blank, Mad*L figure which we were asked to customize in our own way.)
Normally Mad*L figures are about 5 inch tall, "urban vinyl" collectible figures. But the blanks were about 22" tall, cast in resin. We would have a few months to stylize our personal Mad*L and then they would be presented in a gallery space with the other contributing artists.
This was the scene at the Oulous Repair Shop Gallery in L.A.'s China Town on April 9th 2005:
